January Reviews

These are some of the books I read during January with small reviews for each.

Lawson by Samantha whiskey  3/5
Daughter of Hockey Coach helps the team, and falls for a player who helped her out before knowing who she was. Decent hockey romance. I didn't feel like it was fantastic, but I didn't hate it.

No Pucking Way/Our Pucking Way by C.R. Jane 4/5
Woman with amnesia feels something at a hockey rink, spoiler alert it's the players. Decent push and pull between all the characters with nice twists thrown into the plot.

Stranded by Selena winters 4/5
Snowed In With your masked stalker? Yes, please. Wasn't a super long book, and was a pretty good storyline.

Carnage island by Lexi C. Foss 3.5/5
Rejected by an alpha of another clan, and sent to a "reject/prison" island, where you find your fated mate? I've tried really hard to enjoy this author, and I think after this one, it's just not clicking for me. It's a good base storyline, but both books I've read from this author has kinda been a let down as it progresses.

No Tomorrow by Carrian Cole 4.5/5
Falling for the right person at the wrong time over and over, til you question if there will be a tomorrow. This one actually destroyed me more than any book I'd read before. I'm putting 4.5 instead of 5 cause I almost DNF the book. I'm glad I didn't, but at several points, I needed to put it down and take a break.

Little Liar by Leigh rivers 2.5/5
Sequel to Little Stranger. I actually really liked little stranger. I was very confused with the first half of the book being repetitive of the first half of the first book. I saw a lot of potential with this one and was kinda let down. I didn't mind the ending and plot twists they were decent, but I feel like we only got half of a book that felt rushed.

The Mindfuck series by S.T. Abby 5/5
I've been craving a book that reminds me of a good criminal minds vibe, while not being criminal minds. Mindfuck definitely gave that to me. I really enjoyed the pace, flow, and style of the story. Was not super spicy, but the storyline was worth every second.

Make Him by Kelly Finley 4/5
Billionaire dad and nanny he can't allow himself to have. I loved the different dynamics shown in the dom/sub aspect. You know it's good if you're yelling at the characters.

His Tesoro by Emilia rossi 4/5
Given almost as an insult in an arranged marriage, the mfc and mmc slowly fall for each other. Will she become his weakness?  Loved this one. Never lost my interest.

Vicious vengeance series by Mila kane 4/5
All grown up, was your childhood best friend who you thought he was, or did you change him?

Feral king/tragic king by sorcha black 4/5
This one actually covered some tough topics i wasn't expecting. How much do you pay people to be your friend?

Phantom by H.D. Carlton 4/5
Part of the Cat and Mouse universe, this follows the tragic tale of Gigi and her stalker Ronaldo. Set in the 1950's, and honestly was better than I expected. Not as spicy as HA but the spice that's there is quality.

Onyx storm by rebecca yarros 5/5
Honestly each book is going to be 5/5 until the series is over, because each time I read them I love them more.

Up for air by Christina berry 4.5/5
This book is actually part of a series. I finished this one, knowing about halfway though I probably wouldn't read the second one. I'm not taking points off for it, but it's my fault for not paying attention to all the tw. I will say as the book went on, I did begin to enjoy it more. I hate miscommunication in books and a good bit of issues could have been solved with communication. (Again my fault) After the epiloge, I may read the next one, but will definitely need a break to recover.

Born in Blood by Sadie Kincaid 4/5
I went into this book with wounds still fresh from Promised in Blood. I didn't expect to enjoy it cause I didn't want to see Alexandros and Axel with anyone other than Ophelia. However it was a short read, and did make me like Axel a Lil bit.

Satan's Affair by H.D. Carlton 4/5
Sibbys story. I honestly didn't like Sibby that much in haunting and hunting adeline but I did enjoy her background story. It's nice finding out about her men.

Enigma series by Shandi Boyes 3.5/5
Enigma was another fbi agent falls for someone they're investigating. This series kept going back and forth for me. It would get interesting and I'd be into it, then it'd fall off. Ending it with a decent score as it did end well.

The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros 4/5
Why Rebecca why? When your brother dies in combat, and you're left alone in this world as a single mom to twins, one of which is living with cancer, are you thankful to have his best friend honor bound to help you? This one actually made me cry. If you like military romance while having your heart kick punted to another country check it out.

(This is my own personal review based on my opinion on these books. Not everyone enjoys the same books, just because I loved/hated it doesn't mean you will love/hate it. As always, check your trigger warnings.)
