We are back with book 3 of the Wrecked Series by Ellie Pond. This series is still one of my favorites.

Just like the last book, we pick up right after our cliffhanger. In search of Calvin, Easton, and Rock Candy, Haley and the rest of her guys have to do quick detective work. While Calvin and Easton try to make it back to camp, without the pirates following them.
Once everyone is reunited, and treated for wounds, secrets are exposed. This time, they aren't about the boat or Eastons family. Calvin has hidden the islands dark history from the rest of the group, in hopes he could put it to rest. Secrets are never friends on the island, and they will all come out eventually. Luckily, despite some bickering, they all work together to complete what Calvin started.

We also get to experience the holidays on the island in this one. Island fest/Thanks-o-weenie and the cutest Christmas yet. While I 100% knew the guys would gift Haley great gifts, I didnt expect the exchange between the guys to be so good. This scene really drives in the found family trope that I absolutely love.

Zane has still been hard at work trying to crack the Rockwell code and figure out what the numbers and letters mean. It does seem like he's made a lot of progress, but isn't quite close enough to solve it. At least he isn't stressing everyone out with building something non stop.

Life on the island seems nice, despite everyone waiting for the impending return of the pirates. When it finally happened, my brain ran through a few theories, none of which are good.
Everyone splits up to try to protect Haley. Which has proven to not be a good thing almost everytime. Even Dante points this out:
“That always works so well in horror movies.”
Which is a good foreshadowing moment, as slowly, despite the traps and well thought out plans, they all get captured by the pirates. The good thing is, the pirates captured all of them, and turned them over alive to someone else.

At the end of this book we are deeply affected by yet another frustrating cliffhanger, but this time they're all together. I hope the next book proves my little conspiracy theories wrong, and all is well at the end.

The spice in this one, felt like there wasn't as many scenes, but the scenes it did have were long. Like spanning across multiple chapters and POV'S, which I'd personally prefer. It doesn't feel like they drag on, and they are really well written even from the multiple POV's.

Overall I am really enjoying the storyline across this series, and can not wait for the last book. I still can't pick a favorite out of the guys, and I am honestly fine with that.

This book is part of an ongoing series available on KU.

(This is my own personal review based on my opinion on this book/series. Not everyone enjoys the same books, just because I loved/hated it doesn't mean you will love/hate it. As always, check your trigger warnings.)
